Database Search Tips

What's the best way to save an article to view at another time?  Instead of printing it or bookmarking the page, take advantage of the personal account option many databases feature.  Those that do usually have a link to "sign in" located somewhere near the top of their pages.  Creating an account for yourself can have many advantages:

• Save articles to your personal folders
• Organize your research with folders
• Save and retrieve your search history
• Create email alerts and/or RSS feeds
• Save and export citations
• Access your research from any computer

What if the database you are using doesn't have the option to create a personal account?  Often, they will allow you to place things in a folder to view/print/download all at once at the end of your session.
